The strength of our higher education resources means research and development in Devon is world class.

A number of Devon’s most successful startups over the last decade have been spin-outs from the University of Exeter, with support from the Innovation Centre and SetSquared. In 2018, SetSquared was ranked as the World’s Top Business Incubator managed by a university.

Exeter Science Park offers a space for knowledge-based science, technology, engineering and medicine-related enterprises to grow, working alongside well-established organisations like the Met Office and University of Exeter.

Innovate UK have invested over £31 million in businesses in Devon, supporting 283 projects with more to be announced.

Meanwhile, Devon is also home to one of the world’s most coveted MBA programmes. 

The University of Exeter’s One Planet MBA programme is developing a new generation of business leaders with the knowledge, skills and understanding required to create, build and develop sustainable profitable businesses of the future.
